Rhody Parade 2024

With smokers, flowers, bees and cheerful signs in hand, 25 EJBees members buzzed down the parade route in Port Townsend May 18th, delighting the crowds. There were cheers for the beekeepers and for bees, and special applause for our mascot “EJ” (Blake), who entertained children and adults alike along the route with his “high-fives” and pleasing antics. A grand time was had by all!

This year EJ was assisted by Rhea in her Victorian beekeeping dress, while her Grandma Annie walked the route in her authentic attire, typical for a lady-beekeeper in Victorian days.

Most of us sported beekeeping “gear” for the parade. A couple EJBees families handed out special candies and bee stickers to spectators.
